The stairtower at the Museum of Industry has been given a new look. To mark the museum’s 50th anniversary, the French artist Fred Battle created a large mural. The work has been named ‘Tellar’ and is inspired by the museum’s collection and Ghent’s textile heritage.
Tellar is a vibrant composition inspired by the movement of textile production and the relationship between the human gesture, machinery and landscape. The intense, joyful colours bring energy to the composition, transforming the industrial subject into a vivid and contemporary landscape of colour, movement and material.
